Keep your head up. Things will get better. Stay positive. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Thank you so much!
Switch lanes. You are soooo young! Get into real estate sales, advertising sales. Lots of money is being made in my industry…Solar but not if you have thin skin. My boss is 25. He is a partner in the company which has grown to be a 100 million dollar company in less than 5 years. I raised 3 kids, had a wife that didn’t work for 12 years, built 2 dream houses. All on mostly print advertising sales. If you want it bad enough, go be your best and sell for somebody. You will write your own paycheck, if you are persistent and work hard! Remember this “Successful people do what unsuccessful people don’t want to do.”
Hey AM I totally get it. I’ve always excelled at interviewing and this is another game. I even applied and got to the final stages of one BDR role and was rejected mainly because I was overqualified. Also, I know I’m worth more and much better utilized doing something else. I will say that I’ve gotten further and further in my interviews each time and gotten to the final rounds in the last few companies. If you’re playing the long game, you’re playing for fit which will benefit you in the long run. And “fit” might even be a bit of a step down but you’ve gotta be stoked about the company - or some aspect of the opportunity to make it worthwhile. Don’t settle for just anything.
The best time to find a job is when you have one. You may have to lower your standards and take whatever for right now
You have to do what’s right for you - be selective about how you talk about that experience in Your interviews —
I was in a similar situation and you may have to step back to a BDM to get your foot in the door somewhere
That's exactly what i've realised and started to do - applying for SDR and BDM jobs to widen the scope
Look at your resume - also you availability - the more open you are to shifts ( especially the least liked ones ) the more they may lean towards you. Also pay expectation - might need to accept a lower amount and then you can work your way back up. Wishing you all the best. Be positive and show them what makes you needed in their company ! How can You help it grow ? !
Great! Also keep up with the newest things in your field! Learning and improving your skills and knowledge - you will land the job that will get you to your goals.
I honestly just accepted the fact that I will be on SSDI until I'm married, probably. Apparently there's a whole epidemic of joblessness happening. Few people want to work and even less are able to find stable employment.
I am a retired Marine and I’m sorry you have been going through a tough time. You shouldn’t ever accept being jobless for any period of time. The economy has been horrible and the job market won’t recover for years, However, everything happens for a reason…
Send me a message - I have an opportunity for you. The compensation is huge, as long as you are the right fit.

I run a staffing agency start up. Send me your resume contact@bdestaffing.com what is likely happening is you are getting stuck in the applicant tracking system due to a résumé with improper keyword density. I can help you.
Thank you very much!! I've just pinged you an email, im based in the UK so hopefully that won't be a problem. Many thanks for your support!
Look at American Express they are hiring for business development managers and they are widely hiring no need to step back if you knows your value. Don’t listen to anyone saying for you to step back utilized Ai to put together your resume, and cover letter, reach out to manager on LinkedIn and network: most of my successful application are through reaching out to people. Also 6 months is still a short time:)
Thank you for the suggestion, I certainly will look at American Express and apply!! Yes I have certainly had some help from AI programs like the ones integrated on CV builder websites and Chat GPT for my CV but not too much as I want it to look genuine and have the 'human' element to it :) if im honest my last job was actually my first job after uni - i have learnt an enormous amount from not only my last job but especially the last 6 months! Lots of Do's and Dont's but as they say - you live and you learn!
It’s gonna be ok. It happens. Something will come up even better
Yeah , maybe try retail or food just to get your foot in the door, to show your dedication to work and learn new things
You should apply somewhere else than just your city you never know you could get a way better job somewhere else there’s a lot of opportunities you just have to risk a little and move I recently did it and it was hard to adjust but I definitely loved it I get paid more and there’s more growth in this company
How are you applying? If you are simply scouring the net for jobs and applying from home, or remotely without making contact with actual people, this might be why. You need to step outside this process, reach out to someone possibly even in person. Get a human interested in you, your willingness to go the extra mile and I guarantee it will do wonders for your search. It may also piss some people off, but welcome to sales. Also, it really might be your resume. Google the Harvard Resume Format and use it.
