I'm happier and fulfilled when I travel. I go to the gym, read books on my flights, eat well especially breakfast, and enjoy working from home on Fridays. Keep travel projects coming consulting&EY God

@PWC2 Bruh, you are getting real angry in a one sided fight 🙂🙂 I'm gonna go meditate and read my book and continue hoping to run into OP

But all that said - good for you OP! This profession needs to be filled with consultants like you. People who like it are people who will succeed here :)

And then comes along someone you care about........OH! And add kids! They don't give a shot about you going to the gym... I travel but I love my wife and kids immensely

I love the perks of travel. But I hate what I have to give up for them. I've gone from a consultant that would travel out Sunday night for the extra night of free meals and points to a consultant who cries every Monday morning. It took me 3 years to do this 180 but it happened.

If this job were guaranteed to be capped at 11-12 hrs a day, I would absolutely love it. I'm with you, OP - keep doing what works for you 💯.

Your rolling your eyes at me? B/c I don't pretend it's easy?

D1-go FU. Was OP trying to suggest wtf are people bitching about ? or perhaps simply pointing out what a single person could enjoy about this industry

OP, sounds like you have chosen the right profession. Congrats!

Same right now, but I'm 23. I'm sure it'll change once a family comes around

Hi, I'm an employee at a hotel chain who works remotely. I've been working remotely for over a year now and I love it! The company I work for is very supportive of remote workers, which is great.

But there's one thing that's been bothering me: it's hard to get feedback on my work when I'm not in the office. It would be great if there was some kind of system that let me know how my performance was being evaluated while I'm working on projects from home.

But I also have offers from Deloitte and EY to be a GPS consultant at ~100k. Is it worth it to move to D or EY? Have personal financial goals that i need to reach for my family and thats why i started considering EY and D.

Is it misleading to just look at Total Compensation from a $ dollar value/ Total Compensation seems to be much more subjective than base salary in terms of its value. Some factors might be:

RSUs granted on dollar value or by # of shares & stock price trends
Vesting schedule
strike price on ISOs & delta between strike price and real market value

For instance, most of value in Amazon's comp seems to be granted in years 3 & 4, but it's well known that most people last only 2 years max there.

Senior attorneys at v100, how common is it for attorneys who start at small firms to lateral to biglaw? Have you worked with any? Conventional wisdom is always that if you don’t start there it’s hard to “trade up”. My coworker and I just did it to two different great v30 firms, and I’m wondering if it’s really that uncommon? Just out of curiosity. We’re not special counsel with special niche skills or anything, just associates. Pitfalls to beware? Positives?

Need advice. Top performer. Team members have been leaving and I have a stupid amount of responsibilities. I’m not complaining about that but some were very swiftly transitioned while I was dealing with other work streams. TLDR: I am super burnt out and am one of two people who does any technical work.
