I’m heading into a second interview and would love some tips on how to assess workload and work-life balance without sending the wrong signal. I want to understand what day-to-day really looks like, but I also don’t want to come across as someone who’s not willing to work hard. Beyond asking about a typical day, what other questions would you recommend asking to get a realistic sense of workload and WLB? Thanks!

I have an offer for $130k for a senior attorney position in a boutique L&E firm. Also have a recruiter who thinks she can get me into another for $150-170k. Both are more than I’ve ever made (Denver, 17 yrs of experience but completely different practice areas). Any tips for countering the $130k offer for more using the other potential offer while not risking a complete withdrawal of the current offer? I’ve never been in a position to bargain my starting salary so this is all very new to me.
