I'm in a toxic work environment. My first red flag should have been the lack of diversity in this space. Also, as a small family-run business, everything is sometimes not handled professionally. I would love to pursue other workplaces, but the convenience here is hard to overlook. How do you table your grievances while also knowing that, being a community manager, you can be easily replaced despite the ties?

So embarrassed. I literally had one job to do today which was to schedule a client and give and take her paperwork when she came in. Totally called her by the wrong name today AND gave her the wrong paperwork. She was really nice about it but I feel like my boss was disappointed and I'm disappointed in myself. Am I particularly uptight, or is writing meant to be done alone, without a partner talking to you? With past partners, we chat through script notes and then I go off to execute. Current partner likes to sit and chat as I write. To me, writing is crafting a conversation. So I can’t talk to you and simultaneously talk to this audience. Of course I can just say “I’m gonna go write.” But since we’re both CD level, I’m like…is this his first rodeo? Maybe other writers are different though.
