Negotiating with EY for M/SM Tech Consulting. I have 15 years experience, skills are in demand and my interviews went extremely well. 1. What are the salary ranges for M and SM in NYC. 2. I am told it is only going to be a M now, for my own benefit-no EY network means failure at selling. Whats the highest salary I can negotiate at M. Any other tips will be handy. I have "sold" (support on sales & new roles through relationships) plus I have solid delivery experience. I really want SM 😀😀😀 EY

Yeah you are right. Kids nowadays are more tech experts compared to those techs who started in the company 10 years ago. You can bring it up to your Management team. It's a good thing you are being honest rather than playing all-mighty. It's not overthinking but you are just being true to yourself.
Some big companies would use that as fodder against this person so that might be risky. I do agree that it's silly when a company values seniority over skills. That ultimately doesn't make things get done any more efficiently for them.
What's the starting salary for software coders nowadays? I know someone who has been coding for 15+ years and is absolutely amazing at it, but I think he's being underpaid. Would like to give him an idea of what market value really is.
Possibly… to me this seems like you are being given more leadership roles, like building a team. Plus your company must value/trust your opinion.
If based on skills, maybe you're right. But it's possible as well that they are giving you a leadership role just like what BDO1 said. I think this is a good sign if you are aiming for a promotion.
