I’m in my first SDR position, about a month in and we just found out our ramp commissions aren’t full OTE I thought this was standard I could we wrong.. we also have to meet a closed deal quota of minimum 25% of our SQL’s to get paid commissions (we don’t have contact with the prospects after we book the meeting. What’s the best way to transition into tech sales?

I have 3 years of consulting (2.5 at EY, .5 at boutique) in finance and analytics. I’m struggling on looking for roles because I’m afraid I will go down in comp (currently base 105)

I have a total of 4 years sales experience, 1 year in life insurance sales and 3 in retail banking (lending, investment referrals, merchant services referrals).

I did well in banking, but incentive plan has suffered tremendously, so I’m looking to jump into tech sales where I could be more compensated for the work.
