Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.

Hard pass.
In all honesty to give you an accurate answer we would need to know what you were doing in your current role, and what you would be doing in your potential role.
Just because you are moving to a lower cost area doesn’t mean the responsibilities are equivalent.
It’s very possible that for the role you applied for $85k is a fair and accurate rate.
Remember you are paid for the role, not necessarily your salary or experience. If the new role requires 5-7 years of experience - they aren’t paying you significantly more for double the experience
That’s way too much of a haircut to take in salary. Unless there’s family reasons for you to take care of
You also have relocation expenses. Are they picking up those too?
Nope. Nope. Nope.
Where in Nevada is it?
