Crossroads Toyota Motor Sales, USA, Inc. I have been with the organization almost 6 years and have accomplished achievement of my MSL (Masters Strategic Leadership) and LOVE the organization…BUT…I am not having any success in moving into a new position…my interviews are great experiences but it seems to be a pattern of not being selected yet encouraged to continue applying…received information from a mentor/manager to ask for candid feedback…when is enough…ENOUGH??
Hello people, how common is a Amazon to PWC move ?
I’m interviewing for a Senior Associate role and TC seems to be more competitive than role in L5.
TC $114k- Base AMZ- $73k +$38kstocks ( vesting 17k$ due next year)
TC $135k Base PWC -$81$ + Bonuses ( 50k$)
Looking for managerial skills which the PWC role avails, and L6 promo doesn’t seem to be happening soon in current role. I’m also mentally stretched. I hear WLB in PWC is just as busy but can anyone confirm if this move makes any sense. Google Amazon

The key to making a transition is showing people you can do the job. You can do this by working on projects similar to the work you’ll be doing.
First thing is understand if you like this new career before you spend time transitioning. Start talking to people in the career and watching day in the life videos. Once you've ensured you're interested in the new career, confirm the career by building a side project or 2. This validates you like this new career and you won’t switch into a career you’re unhappy about. Then develop the experience by working on bigger projects, so you can stand out.
If you have the self discipline, then you can do this on your own!
If you need some help, I built a social platform that matches people's careers with their passions by working on projects with a coach. We will help you with each of these steps and help you transition into a new career. Come check us out: ourbreadcrumbs.co

PMP would be useless in tech. We all use Scrum Masters now. This will be a great entry point for you but you will still need to augment the knowledge gap with some CS classes.

Moving from mechanical/industrial engineering to tech isn’t a lateral move. I can’t speak to your pay and what you make, but either way, you’re going to need to learn more CS/IS and coding isn’t something that you can fully avoid. You don’t have to become a full stack dev or a SWE, but you’ll need to understand the basics regardless of focus. The PMP will help you understand project management in general, but in software, you’ll do well to know agile and dev ops.
That said, do you know where you want to focus in tech/software? It’s a wide space. That can help you narrow what you need now, what you can put off until later, and what you can disregard.
