I really think that the insurance policy given by mediassist is way more expensive for parental insurance, means who will pay for 50k+ premium and that too for large copay, I guess the leadership team should intervene here....Parental insurance is really important for any employee and most of the time is only needed.
Recently I used parental insurance and found that the insurance company only paid for 50% of the total bill.

My father passed away last week. I had wills written up for him, he has a small c corp, and we don’t live in a community property state. Mom’s still with us, fortunately.
Besides informing social security, filing a life insurance claim, getting a death certificate, flagging his credit card, and starting the probate process, is there anything else I need to do immediately (in a financial/regulatory sense)?
I’ve been following the guide here: https://www.reddit.com/r/personalfinance/wiki/death_of_loved_one/ but others guidance is always appreciated.

- does your company allow in-service withdrawals (mine doesn’t allow withdrawal as a current employee)? If so, you can set up the direct link to an IRA. There may be a penalty from your fund manager.
- is your company match vested? If so, you shouldn’t lose it.
- do you have time to manage specific investments vs a fund? Do you not have funds in your company 401k that match this performance?
All good points thank you!
You'd want to look for new companies to buy stock in as those you mentioned are ridiculously expensive youd be able to buy max like 5 shares... I'd do research to put money in funds as that can be a bit safer and less work re: research
You can use a brokerage that allows for partial share ownership
In service withdrawal isn’t permitted in the CR plan before 59.5.
