I’m struggling to be a good ally for people who are transgender & could use some advice. I recognize my privilege as a gay man and have been championing ways to bring visibility to transgender people, their experiences and stories at work. I also recognize the burden shouldn’t fall entirely on people who identify as transgender. Here lies the challenge: I can’t personally speak on the experiences of transgender people so my approach is to surface content from those who do. (More in 1st comment)

My boss (atty) is so disorganized! I’ve been with him 6 months and he’s having a hard time delegating, sharing info and managing deadlines. I’ve organized the caseload to manage the deadlines. He says he wants me to help with discovery but when I offer to start on one, he says he needs to do it. (Since he might have to present as evidence) When I give him deadlines and ask for the docs he says he’ll get to it. It’s a small 1 man firm, and I’m the first assistant besides his wife. Any advice?

Working remotely for a tech co and still can't get over how much more time I get to spend with my kids. To be honest, this alone is worth so much more than money can buy. For those who plan well, I really think exiting can be worth it if family is a priority. It's really helped my marriage also, I'm a lot kinder to my wife with way less stress.

After spending 4 years as a mid-level ops manager, I tried to break into HR through talent acquisition. Now after 6 years in TA, I've had a hard time getting out of it. I’m sure it’s not new to 2022, but I’m feeling more than ever this year how much of “corporate pride” centers around gay men and calls it “lgbtq”. Are gay women, bisexuals, etc. not as palatable for audiences? I’m struggling with this a bit.

What brands do Pride right? Any favorite campaigns come to mind? Or on the flip side, any campaigns you dislike for being tone-deaf or performative?

Just wanted to say, as a guy in my mid-20’s, cheers to all the 30-40+ y/o LGBTQIA+ folks here—I know we roll our eyes at the performative rainbows on everything now, but you folks made this possible for the rest of us—you fought for acceptance, for our rights, and you made it through the struggle so people my age don’t have the same weight to carry, so we don’t have to be as afraid.
We have a long way to go, and I’ll carry the torch too, but I really think y’all deserve more gratitude. Happy 🏳️‍🌈

My partner hates my long working hours.

It is really hard to do well in this business without sacrifice and my partner doesn't like it. To be fair that sacrifice is her... Most nights,over the weekend, and during every meal. She deserves better but I either sacrifice time or sacrifice earning potential.
