Why not get a remote job at an NYC agency?
Nah. Quite a few publicis are very open for remote for example. Especially if you are more experienced
Rising Star
KC is great, love that town. But I’m pretty sure you’re not going to get NYC rates in KC.
If you’re going to work full time remote, out of all the places in the country, this is a puzzling move. Unless you have family or a significant other there or something.
Makes sense!
Agencies in KC include VMLY&R (HQ), Barkley, Signal Theory, Bernstein Rein and MMGY Global to name a few
Signal Theory is def looking...don't know anything about them but they reached out to everyone at my agency in STL. I think they're hybrid and want ag experience though.
Can you leverage your NYC network to find a remote job in NY before you move back to KC?
Places like VMLYR are doing a hybrid schedule last I checked. Is there a reason you’re looking specifically at KC?
Don’t move to Kansas City. But if you must, Barkley, intouch, and VML have nyc offices. Good place to start. If you are hired in nyc and ask to move to KC a few months into your role, it might be easier to keep more of your nyc salary.
I wouldn't plan on being able to work remote in KC at a KC Agency. Most of the agencies have their employees do a hybrid, or the one I worked for turned back to fully in person.
