We get put on a piece of ice and pushed out to sea.
They toss our ass in the ocean 🌊 😄. Some ppl know how to swim by pivoting to something else, and others just drown which is the end of everything.
Start making your own connections. Reach out to side clients, local businesses, etc. Really try to connect and maintain relationships with the clients on your level. The best way to not get phased out is to become your own business.

I’m 47 and can’t find a job to save my life.
Have you seen Logan's Run?
I'm 55 and I've tried many avenues of thought and imagination to cope with thy limitations I've placed on myself, my age being one of them. With cognitive dissonance splitting me in two, figuratively speaking, I am blessed to say that I am stuck in a rabbit hole of "what the fuckism" that also contains my missing half, (the self chosen ideals that held my notion of my highest self in tact.) The good thing about that, in terms of age, is that now I'm 27.5 years old, in my wacky translation. Age is a number. I climb my way out of this rabbit hole by imagination. If I'm stuck in Neverland I'll create a Forever land. If I'm stuck in a competition with the younger, beautiful and more sought after prospects of my chosen field, I must find a way to rock my handicap with the quality that turns my walk of shame into my claim to fame.

Come on over to the over 40 bowl and you’ll find out.

I’m still in it mid 50s. Barely. Get a house paid off that would make a great rental when you retire in an affordable ‘third worldish’ country. Between that passive income and social security you can survive.
Hello if I know besides look for work, consider buying a business so I can hire myself … it’s bonkers out there and I’m scared. If I could tell my 35 yo self something it would be, start a business, save and enjoy your youth.
