Means you’re doing it right! If you’re hitting chargeability targets then you must be effectively delegating. But as it’s been said many times before, “what got you to your current place isn’t enough to keep you there.” So focus on up-skilling and finding your next thing(s)
You’re doing it right. Now go out there and seek opportunities and learning for yourself and your team. Build relationships with others around the organization, seek feedback from your team on ways you can make their work environment better. Take on stretch assignments that will give you visibility to other areas of the business.
Agree with the above. I always feel strange producing fewer deliverables, and as a heads-down worker, I need to remind myself that a big part of my job now is developing relationships, talking and really listening to people, trying to find the problems and figure out a solution, etc.
One senior woman I know keeps a list of people she should be talking to recently and when she has down time, will reach out. I thought that was a great idea and a good thing to do with any spare time - think of who on your team you haven’t checked in with in a while, etc.
You're not doing it wrong at all! Now that you're a manager you have less busy work and are more concerned with overseeing operations and making sure that things are going smoothly. You can use you're extra time to help our your team, advance your own career, and make sure you're staying on top of your own work and responsibilities.
As a manger, you own more of delivery, quality, and relationships. These are not necessarily full time. Make sure you are developing your teams and crushing the work.
Your delegating your work instead of taking it on a d becoming more hands on..
Not a good path..keep urself active on the hands on day to day
Since you're no longer immersed in day-to-day tasks, it's crucial to build strong relationships within and outside your team. Regular one-on-one meetings are essential to create a safe space for your team to openly share their honest thoughts on what's working well, what isn't, and potential areas for improvement.
