Depends on the contract you sign but, not usually no
With that lawsuit going on buyer agents will be a thing of the past soon. I imagine that role will shift to transaction coordinators. Sellers agents will show their houses, like the rest of the world. Legal contracts will be done by a qualified person, like a lawyer.
Can only hope for such a day!

And depending upon the price of the home 2.5% splits are fairly common too.

When I signed my buyers agreement we agreed that my agent will accept the offered commission. However that was an edit I asked for. The default agreement would have required me to make up the difference to a 2.5% payout.

No, the seller is responsible for paying both agents. Typically there is 6% split between the buyers and sellers agent (3% a piece). This likely means that they are trying to entice buyers to go with Redfin agents and probably have some incentive where they try to say they are giving you maybe .5 to 1% credit off your closing costs by using their agent. (I think red fin agents just get paid with a flat fee regardless of purchase price. Give me a shout and I could look more into it. Where are you located?

In the real estate market there is typically always a catch. I’d tell you that this incentive isn’t always what it’s cracked up to be that’s why you want to shop around. I’ve beat many deals that offer some sort of “buyers rebate” or credit because they typically make up for that with some other fees / higher rates etc
