If you have like 5 roommates for your two bedroom apt.. Totally doable!
C1 you can't get your own place for $2200/month. A decent studio runs minimum 3000-4000$. You aren't considering 401k, health insurance costs, utilities, gym fees...it's definitely doable to live on 97k but it is a very different lifestyle than it would be in many other cities and can be detrimental to your ability to save for the future.
According to SF business times you should have $200k to live comfortably in SF. Soooo like only SMs and PPDs?
Btw - hope that's not true for single females! Looking forward to the dating scene...if I can afford to live there. 😬
(My housemate is paying the remaining 2400)
my friend just got a studio in San Jose for $2400 and that's apparently cheap - she makes approx 90 I believe
You easily do cocaine with that salary. You can get 3g for 150 bucks in SF
I'm no coke expert but that sounds like an aggressive habit..
I did about 10 years ago. No way would I consider today
Great for women
97k in SF equals PEASANT
No
Bc we like to ball out @c1!!!
OP, how many years of experience do you have?
You could survive, but you couldn't live. And you would barely make it paycheck to paycheck.
With two room mates
Also D4's wrong - straight men are rarity so no shortage of demand. 35% are asian too, if that's your thing.
Thanks all! I am concerned that I won't be able to save and adult like I should. Good call on doing more research. This is just the first step!
Still pales in comparison to NYC, DC, Chi, and LA
Have a friend making less than that living in Outer Sunset, he seems to be doing just fine
Live in berkeley for 1600 in a 1 bedroom, making 110k. Check out student areas (berkeley, SFSU) for cheaper housing options. I put a good amt in 401k and hsa, have a paid off car and still have 2k+ a month in savings.
LOL P2- Love that cocaine disclaimer.
Live in East Bay! Not worth it to live in the city. I live next to a BART stop just north of Berkeley. Tons of free parking, affordable rent, etc.
