Instead of PMP. Go for Scrum Master Certification or try moving up with your Salesforce background. Business Analyst, CRM Product Owner, Product Manager etc. Get high level Salesforce certs.
Thank you for the advice !
Maybe reconsider...I heard PMPing ain’t easy. 🥁
What is your motivation for becoming a PMP? If it's because of the money, I would think twice before going into it. It's a very laborious and demanding role with a lot of responsibility. But if you genuinely love project managers then you should reach out to PMPs in your company and see if you can have an informational interview with them.
Thank you!
Why do you need PMP?
Not necessarily saying I need to have a PMP license but I have had 6 years of experience curating projects and am now currently a sales administrator. I don’t necessarily want to be a sales admin forever so I’m just trying to find what my next career goal should be.
I’m a PMP. What’s your end goal?
As a sales admin, I do love my job. I love organizing, multitasking, and delegating to others. I manage multiple projects at a time and help move the needle along as my vp handles bigger projects. I feel like this aligns with being a project manager but am not sure if that should be where my end goal is.
