Is getting into accounting advisory helpful for exit opportunities?

If you like technical accounting (digging into the codification), yes. Personally that seems miserable.

I honestly believe most people are drawn to it because it's not audit, only to learn it's really not fun either lol. But they get to say they're in "advisory" or a "consultant," so that's cool I guess.

Maybe reach out to some people who work there and get their feedback. Hopefully someone you trust who can tell you all the good, bad, ugly.

I have two offers, one from Am Law 100 firm and one from Am Law 200 firm. Am Law 200 firm is offering 40K more (otherwise the firms have same hours target and, based on discussions, similar culture). I’m trying to decide between the two based on long term career prospects, both offer opportunity for NEP (not sure how realistic it is at either). Also not sure of overall earning potential down the road. Is the 40K now worth it or am I likely to make that up at the Am Law 100 firm in the future?

Besides honing my DSA, for skills, should I focus on MERN stack or pure .net development? I'm already familiar with MERN stack and .net core and have made small projects. But they are different and I would like to stick to one path and capitalize on it. Please help which one to choose- MERN or .NET?

Hi all,
I’m currently working for a small technical consulting start-up firm. I make good money, have great benefits, and they seem very happy with the work I’m doing, so I know I could move up quickly. However, tech consulting is definitely not my dream job. I want to get into data analytics, and I have an offer from a big company to do just that. I’ve only been at my current company for about 8 months, but I don’t ever see myself loving this job. How do I know when it’s time to make a change?

I’ve been approached my by company that one of our large clients (who im currently project managing for) is looking for a consultant of sorts, and if they hire us, I’d be the first person asked to take on this consultant role. This isn’t something my company typically offers and would greatly change the scope of my role. Has anyone ever taken on a role like this? If so, were you able to negotiate a percentage of the consulting fee? Or was it a bump in salary during the project?

Which one of the two has more long term monetory benefits/growth? Working as a product manager or working as a software developer. I need an honest opinion.
