Is Google pretty tough to get into without a referral? I’ve applied to a bunch of positions that I think I am well-suited for, but no luck. Any advice?

I have a referral, but she is not in the legal department. How much does that matter?

Referrals can help but only if they've actually worked with you in the past. Keep applying! It's competitive and sometimes it is just pure luck.

How do I approach them in a way that makes me stand out?

I’m interested in a Success Operations Analyst or Sales Strategist role at a Y-Combinator FinTech startup. I’m a perfect match for the roles & I have the opportunity to speak directly to the founder but I’m not sure how to approach them in a way that makes me stand out but not too arrogant.

Any tips??

Had phone call screen with Auditboard HR for the Sr. GL Accountant position today. The average pay range for Sr. Accountant in Los Angeles, CA is around 100k - 110k/year. But she offered me $70k - $80k/year.

Can someone who works in Finance/Accounting department within Auditboard confirm if that is the normal pay range?

I'm evaluating two offers and would love any advice.

Accenture:

I'm in the last stage of the screening process for an Amazon AWS security engineer position. Due to the recent hiring freeze, I was given two options: - go through the last screening (5x1 hour interviews) and, if accepted, wait for a position to open. If not accepted I have to wait 1 to 2 years to apply again, as usual. - OR don't go through the screening and having to go through another screening process. Advices on what to do are welcome. Right now I'm more prone to go through the interview.

Accenture squad...with our fiscal year coming to an end and ratings about to begin, should we expect to see layoffs similar to Deloitte and PwC this year?

I need some insight on my salary. I've been working at a large insurance brokerage for 14 years now and am a Senior Account Manager. I service a book of around $1.5M and am doing all the data entry side of the job plus client facing service without much, if any assistance. My current annual salary is $78,500. I've recently found out from someone who left the company, who was in an entry level account management position, was making only $20k less than myself. Am I being fairly compensated?

I really need some career path advice!
