Is it a weird career move to switch teams from performance/activation (paid search and social) to a strategist role?

I am currently a medical biller and coder that just graduated. I am currently in an entry level position because I am still studying to get certified. I will have a year's work of exp in July and will sign a contract for another year because my boss is training me in more I don't know.

I'm a partner with young kids and feel like I'm missing out on too much of their lives.
