Is it easier to make the transition to a different function in the same therapeutic area or the same function in a different therapeutic area?

I’m working at an insurance defense firm, trying to target my practice to L&E. I’m overworked and underpaid, but gaining valuable experience I hope to pivot toward an eventual in-house counsel position. I recently was offered an opportunity to lateral to a national firm for a significant pay increase (150% salary increase, much better benefits, hybrid WFH options). Problem-I would be shifting gears to Toxic Tort. I’m torn between my passion and the money. I’m a second year associate. WWYD?

Has anyone gone from a complex litigation practice like Construction and/or Government Contracts to a more general civil lit practice (PI, family, etc.)? I'm highly debating making the switch as I feel like these massive complex construction cases aren't really getting me enough solid litigation experience. I rarely, if ever, see the inside of a courthouse, and am generally just bored. If anyone has made the switch I'd love to hear your thoughts.

I am looking to make a career change to HR. I currently make 75K as a sales and development coach. I had a recent offer for a state government position in a talent acquisition role but I’d be taking a $25K pay cut. I am extremely over qualified for the position but it could possibly be a stepping stone and gives me the time to acquire SHRM certifications and possibly start taking classes to get my MBA. My question is those currently in an HR role, would this move make sense to you?

What can I be doing in my current entry level tech consulting job to make me a great candidate for promotions/raises or changing jobs in the next year or 2?

Okay so I’m a newly licensed attorney in a very conservative part of TX. I just got my first job offer and I was worried at first thinking that I was in “Trump” territory, but I tested the waters in my interview and spoke about police injustices and how prosecutor’s job is not only to protect victims, but also defendants from police injustices. I have to let them know by tomorrow, but thoughts on if this is a good career move for someone who wants to work in transactional work-RE or Bankruptcy?

The industry is crumbling under our feet and I still can’t decide if I want to go in-house or not. I’m afraid it won’t be as exciting and I won’t travel as much. But also, I need a job. So 🤦‍♂️

A quick note about what I’ve experienced, in my decade long career, is the real advantage of MBB or FAANG - it gives you a shot at stretch roles that are outside your expertise. Not all the time or even most of the time compared to better candidates with specific experience for the role but gives you this wildcard shot at a vast array of opportunities.

I’m a CRC who manages Investigator- led clinical research projects and I want to transition to a PM role in industry (I would slightly prefer not a PM role in clinical trials since I don’t have clinical trial experience.) I’ve applied to PM roles at many biotech companies (e.g. Charles River, ICON, Paraxel) but only got 1 interview which didn’t work out. Which companies should I look to for an entry level PM role? Negotiation in new offer: I’m moving from fully remote to fully in office (with chance of hybrid later) offer for associate director in quality in pharma for 170k base, 18% bonus and 75k equity.
