Only if you are attractive and have nice feet
😂
I think this is a little aggressive for a professional setting but i’m also 31 and old fashioned. all for toe showing and everything tho but this a lil too much toe you know
Rising Star
I would’ve paid $10 for this pic

Dm me @Maz
Any open-toed shoes are a no imo— but this may be because I work in a city environment. Generally, I think peep-toe pump and up is where I’d draw a boundary for toe exposure haha
Ohh I’ve been seeing this brand a lot lately! It’s classy, just that I kinda want my feet to breathe 😆 but also wanna be appropriate
Those are more party shoes. Peep toe or wider coverage sandal is better. I would not wear these to the office. Also, it's hard no to Birkenstocks.

They aren’t work shoes so call them what you want but you can’t wear those to an office and be taken seriously
Birkenstocks are a hard no, and what you have pictured is not appropriate for a work environment IMO. Get some flat, close toed sling backs, like someone else showed. Peep toe is just about as “racy” as I get in the workplace, internal clients or not.

There’s an old saying that you should dress for the job you want.
Does anyone else around the office wear open toed shoes? Do any of them have senior positions. Are any of them well regarded by high performers?
Get yourself a decent, discreet pair of sneakers for the commute. Swap them out for your office shoes once you arrive.
For women, it makes a lot of sense to have something comfortable for sitting at your desk for hours, versus something a bit more polished for meetings with colleagues or clients.
Aim to dress at least as well as your peers, or even a notch above if you’re feeling ambitious.
2020: pandemic will change everything about how we work!
2024: eww you're gonna wear sandals in the workplace?! *clutches pearls*
lo ool the pearls would’ve been a nice touch to the sandal
I wear peep toes to work all the time, with and without the client present. As long as my feet are clean, nails trimmed and shaped, colored in a nice neutral, fits the aesthic of my overall outfit, I’ve had no issues.
And the pedicure yes… sometimes I feel like it’s bad for our toenails but it looks so nice in the summer
Maybe on a Friday
Never at a client
Nooo 🥴😵💫
No. Don’t do this..
Those shoes are fine. Birks maybe not.
One thing which seems to be missed here:
There is all the discussion about "client facing" and whether the wearer doesn't face clients. However, in any office, I would think there is potential for other teams to have their clients in office and I don't see it looking good to other teams' clients. It's not like anyone would be saying "that person is on a different team and they don't dress the same."
It feels to me like everyone going to the office should dress as if they would be engaging with clients all day, every day, as it is entirely possible.
A lot of the time this is laid out in dress code policy. It's always been allowed at jobs I've worked at.
As a personal choice I don't reveal so much of my feet as it leans on beach-wear in my opinion, but I definitely show more skin than an open-toed pump.
Ah and when you are not seeing clients? I only work with internal clients so was thinking what sandals to buy
I would look at what your internal clients wear
Then i wouldn’t do sandals as open as these unless you need to for a medical reason. If its purely for comfort, i would just suck it up or try to work hybrid a few days a week
Youll likely stand out, and not in a good way
You can prob wear flats with 2 toenails showing
Have you seen anyone else sport shoes like this in your office? If not, hard no. I know you seem to value having your feet breathe, but I would go for the Dolce Vita example instead. Sounds like your office is more formal if people are wearing pumps.
Let’s just say my office is very political lol

Not at the client. Wear it at your firm office.
I’d say Birkenstocks are way too casual, but if you’re on-site/not client facing, the sandals would work (at least at my company)
Not client appropriate.
