Yes it is possible. If you're a tech consultant with around 2+ YOE. You can easily get roles for PM, without sufficient experience you'll be lowballed for Associate PM profiles only.
Sure it is.
The theoretical learning from MBA is compensated by the “On The Job” experience to be a PM
If you neither have MBA or the relevant work experience, It will be really hard for you to land the right job.
You better somehow get into the PM work at an entry-level, get some experience, and explore the basics of the domain, before expecting to get a high-paying job offer.
Another way is to get a relevant degree. I know you would not be interested in doing 2-3 years long MBA just to switch the career. Therefore, I would suggest to get enrolled into the project management certificate program to have 360 degree view of the domain. It would also help you crack the interview and get a suitable job.
Either way, you can join the MBA alternative programs that will give you the flexibility to join PM at the moment and then strong enough to help you switch among different Business Job roles such as marketing, finance, data analyst.
There are many such alternative programs out there, and lasts no more than 6 months. One of the best programs I know is from Harappa School of leadership, Check out its detail to understand how these programs work;
