Is it safe to assume that I didn’t get the job if I haven’t heard anything and its been more than a week?

I’m starting to interview again for the first time in a long time, and I don’t remember what’s a realistic timeframe.

Also, I don’t remember it being this hard. Then again, my book might be awful. 🙏

Recruiter lied about interview process and job type. First interview goes well and interviewer tried to schedule me for in-person interview first thing next morning. I tried to push off into next week and was told it wouldn’t work with timeline. Everything was supposed to be remote, should I keep it moving and go somewhere else?

Searching jobs via LinkedIn and other job portals I could only find startups, with limited chances of my profile getting picked up. I'm interested in an open role at Google; the description mentions several in-office locations, one of which is in the city I live in. It also notes only one remote location- LA, California.

So I was one of two final candidates for a position. I was not selected and was fine. What I do find issue was being told they loved me and still want to work with me. They referred me to one of their vendors - pay is 50k less and I would be working for the person I lost original position to.
