Is Prometric’s $30 test drive worth it? It’s my first time sitting for a part of my CPA exam and I’m just nervous....

No. If you're nervous, just sit ar your desk for 4 hours while doing a practice exam

likefunny

Why on earth would you pay $30 for this

likefunnysmart

Thanks, guys! This is $30 bucks saved 🤣

likefunny

Also try the AICPA practice tests if u want to see the actual test format!

likesmart

Nah. Just do a practice test in a similar setting. Move to a different location if possible where you live. Put phone keys wallet in another room. Only get up during the exams breaks (unsure if this is built into the practice exams).

likesmart

The test prep course I used (CPAExcel) had their practice test in the exact same format the test was in. Save yourself the time and money and carve out 4 or so hours and do a practice test with your test prep course

Dude just do the Becker one the firm pays for it

Try arriving early to calm your nerves. We’ve all been there and there’s nothing to worry about :)

PS the Prometric folks are pretty helpful if you have any concerns.

Do the AICPA practice exam for 15 minutes and get back to studying :)

Any attorneys in the Bay Area practicing just in estate planning (not litigation), can you give your take on whether you would get enough business to do only planning? I'm currently doing family law and I want to start moving away from litigation. For family law there really isn't a non litigation role that produces enough business (i.e. mediation). I do okay, but definitely have to take on more litigation than I prefer. I was thinking estate planning might be a good addition to the mix.
