I've been experiencing increased anxiety at work lately. Does anyone else have any tips for handling anxiety, especially when you're packed with patients?

No matter how packed the waiting room is you have to care for yourself before you can anyone else take a moment to calm yourself breathing exercises work well a quiet moment alone for a few minutes! Your clients will wait and the ones that don’t that’s alright too ! You first !

I exercise in the morning It has helped me significantly. Also, i have been meditating before I go to bed. Both have significantly reduced my stress. The meditation has actually been putting me to sleep now which didn't used to.

Absolutely! I find that taking a few deep breaths and focusing on my breathing helps me to regain my composure in those moments. I also like to take a brief walk if I'm able to in order to clear my mind and release some of the tension. Lastly, I've found that talking to a trusted colleague or mentor can be really beneficial to help me put things into perspective.

I've been dealing with a lot of anxiety lately as well. And have been seeing a therapist about it. One trick she has taught me is when I catch myself to address it out loud. Your anxious thoughts are irrational so speak to yourself with ration

Has anyone else tried Strattera, had success, and a few months later felt like work was a struggle again? Am I imagining it? There are reasons why I should not take stimulants, but I miss that feeling of being a “regular” person at work and so am curious if others have had a similar journey and where you all ended up

Advice and/or consolation anyone? My wife and I (both above average health 30year olds) were trying for 11 months before getting pregnant and then had a week 5 early miscarriage a few months back. If the stress and surprise of just how difficult it apparently is to get pregnant wasn’t enough, the miscarriage put us over. We got back to it and have been trying for the last 2 months again, still no luck. We’re freaking out… all we want is a family. Any similar stories? Advice? 😢

Hi folks, need your help! Just found out that we’re pregnant (we were not actively trying so kinda surprised 🙈). What brand prenatal vitamins would you recommend? I’m seeing mixed suggestions on Folic vs. Folate - which one is important?

Please guide me and let me know if there is anything else I need to do at this moment. I’ve contacted my OB as well. I’m so worried. Thanks!

like

Hey family-Has anyone gone with a pediatrician who didn’t have hospital rights to do the exam at birth?
Context: first baby, high risk pregnancy (blood pressure), in northern Dallas suburbs but delivering in Dallas proper; strongly prefer a doctor of the diaspora (my OB is black; we want our son to see black excellence all around), but those in the suburbs tend not to have rights in hospitals in Dallas proper

So today was my first day on a stimulant (diagnosed as an adult), and everyone says its suppose to feel like *boom* magic, or normal (?) , I guess. Knowing that is figurative, what should I actually be expecting? I feel mostly the same, I think, though I came in and actually did started my work today. But I mean, somedays I do that...I just don't want to psyche myself out if I'm expecting too much. Or pscyhe myself in if I actually might not be experiencing what I should.

There’s no excuse that by the age of 25 you have never tried therapy. I’m speaking directly to the demographic in this group who I’m sure over 95% of people in here are earning 6 figures. Key word: TRY. I understand it’s not for everyone but to have never even attempted seeking therapy is a injustice to yourself and the people around you.

Any recommendation for a therapist around Jersey City/ NYC area? I have called 15 people so far and none of them are taking new clients. This isn't helping my anxiety.

Serious question, why does going to the gym and doing an intense workout raise my lidio/drive and make me want to run home and and just go to town. 😩🥹

Took my first ever sick day today on account of my very poor and worsening mental health. Just could not bring myself to put in another 14 hour day with back to back meetings and constant activity. Felt very guilty but I honestly wish I could be more honest and actually share with my manager about why I took a day off.

For those also going through this, any tips on how you manage yourself day to day? What self talk tends to help?

Moms or Dads of two, do you ever look back and wish you had tried for three? Moms or Dads of three, how was the transition from two to three and how much did life change?

Had my 1:1 with my People Lead yesterday to prepare for talent discussions. Said I had a great year - but need to work on being consistent. She said when I’m engaged it’s great but need to keep it going. I’ve mentioned my ADHD previously but I’m sure she doesn’t know all the components of what that means. We’ve had org issues - no clear role descriptions or expectations. Yes I do have a hard time staying engaged (and I’m medicated - Vyvance in the am, dextroamphetamine at noon). Thoughts?

I need help. I think I’m being underpaid at my job I’ve been at for 3 1/2 years.
