I've been feeling a lot like this lately. What do you do when you're feeling rundown but don't really have the time or money to take time off or take a vacation? I'm so exhausted, I don't really have a social life outside of work and my family, and I haven't done anything for myself in so long. Any recommendations for perking myself up are appreciated!

Get some exercise. It will help with stress, and if you stick with it, you'll just find yourself feeling better. It doesn't have to be a costly gym or anything fancy. Just putting on your sneakers and going out for a walk can work wonders. Take a walk a few times a week and you'll feel better.

I'm right there with you. I can't remember the last time I did something outside of work that wasn't for my kids. I'm so tired on my days off I just rest or run them back and forth to different activities

I would prefer a luxury vacation to an island, but realistically I just have to do the best with what I can. Taking time off even is kind of difficult now. But whenever you do get even a small chance just take the time out to check in with yourself. Do what you can with what you have and keep working towards the rest!

I enjoy a walk in a park. City, county, or state. Preferably with water. But anything that allows me to be surrounded by nature. Look up tree or forest bathing. It helped me a lot through covid and now I go at least once a week.

I use my health insurance to get massages by going to the chiropractor for adjustments and adding them into my treatment plan. I go twice a month. You can also get a pedicure at the foot doctor. Hope this helps.

Walking daily has helped my mental health so much. I literally can’t wait to get my steps in.

How often and how do you exercise?

I run 4x4 intervals on a treadmill every 2-3 days, and pushups/hangups/crunches about the same, but somewhat more infrequently. Great exercises to do with little time. In winter I go XC skiing upstate at our cabin every two weekends or so.

I’m interested in pursuing cosmetic dermatology (possible Botox and laser treatment) for the first time. I’ve done a ton of research and the derm I’m most interested in going to charges a $150 consult fee but does NOT apply that cost to any treatments you get, whereas from my research it seems like derms in my city usually do apply the consult fee to the treatments. Would you pass on her due to that additional cost, or consider it worth it to see the derm you want to see?
