I’ve got about 3.5 pounds of shrimp. No heads, but still have to peel. What would be your preferred recipe?

Simple pan fry with garlic powder, throw lime juice on it towards the end. Good for weeknights. May freeze half of your shrimp as that’s a good amount.

Ooh, also gumbo or paella. Need to find my recipes

My first go-to recipe would be shrimp scampi, made with Chardonnay, lemon, butter, and garlic. Then, I’d probably use up the rest by making Cantonese wonton soup and filling the wontons with shrimp, ground pork, sesame oil, rice wine, salt, white pepfer, corn starch, water, and a little oil.

They’re pretty big. Unfortunately already defrosted. They’re my neighbor’s, but he had to go out of town suddenly and didn’t want it to go to waste. Love the ideas so far

Yea, I’d grill some tonight, and then use a pound to make ceviche, which will be ready in a couple of days. Also love the wonton idea, as those will possibly hold in a freezer if stored correctly?

You can also make a Shrimp stir-fry - Season with onion powder, garlic powder, oyster sauce, low sodium soy sauce, ginger, mirin, and garlic paste. Add whatever vegetables you like.

My shrimp recipes are either skewered and grilled, boiled with garlic salt and then used in Vietnamese spring roles, or shrimp ceviche

Shrimp, garlic, parsley, red chili, a bit of saffron, white wine, butter, more butter, even more butter and fresh baguette 🥖

Late to the party but for next time I would prepare a risotto with saffron and sautéed shrimps. Or a quick version of a paella with add ons…

New to Toronto, moved to the west end of town/ just past - in Etobicoke. I celebrate my 40th a few days after NYE/NYD - would love some recommendations on moderately priced but nice ambiance restaurants for myself + husband, and my extended family. Everyone is scattered throughout (Hamilton, Barrie, Lyle, Newmarket, North York). Don’t want anything too fancy but don’t really know where or what is good and not downtown.

Best pot roast sides... Go!

As it’s been getting colder I’ve been dabbling in soups. This is a brie and mushroom soup paired with balsamic onion & mushroom toast. It was super tasty and really hit the spot. It can also be used in place of cream of mushroom from a can in recipes if you’re looking for a different taste.
