Hey everyone! I recently graduated this past December and started my current role January 24th. Just this morning I had a recruiter from Meta reach back out to me about a role I applied too last month. Should i schedule an interview with the recruiter? What if it goes well? I am new to Canada and applying jobs via Linkedin / Indeed in IB / Corporate Development / Private equity roles. However, no success so far. Had also gone through 3 rounds of discussion (without any opening) with a leading Canadian Bank. I have a few questions for you.

1. Should i start shooting my resume with cover letter on linkedin profile of IB Directors / VPs / Associates
2. What should be the frequency of follow up with bankers in the bank in which i had discussion already

Job base salary presented by HR during screening interview was $130-$145k. I have 3-5 years more experience and more education compared to the posting requirements (BA required, I have a MS). I love the position and what it entails, but was hoping to reach $150-$160 base salary. If offered the position, is this a reasonable ask? This is for big pharma, data analytics in New England.

Def got ghosted for asking v high salary. Did well on interviews. Is it too weird/desperate to send another follow up email after more than a month, explain how I accidentally asked for that much $lol

I’m convinced that the reason some of these firms are so prestigious is because they have intentionally exclusionary recruitment practices. I used to believe that you had to already be rich to get hired at MBB. Now being on the other side of the recruitment process , I really do feel that it rings true. I hate the way we evaluate candidates and decide on who is “high priority” during coffee chats.

I was promoted to manager in Jan but received an offer with a 35% salary increase and much cheaper health insurance outside the firm.
