I’ve noticed burnout creeping in, especially with my 50-60 hour weeks lately. It’s hard to keep the same energy when each day is packed with patients, charting, and admin tasks. I love patient care, but lately, it’s been hard to find balance. For those who’ve been in this field for years, how do you keep from burning out? Do you set strict boundaries on hours, or maybe find ways to recharge outside of work? I’d love to hear real-life strategies that help keep your passion for being a PA alive without draining yourself.

I have an interview with Korn Ferry for an associate principal role and am curious about others’ experiences have been with work-life balance here. Also, I have an idea of what I should be compensated in this type of role, but any insights on how they pay compared to others would be helpful. I’m really discouraged. My after tax / after 401k contributions etc. take home pay is $6,500 monthly. I have $60,000 in savings / stocks for a down payment but even looking at a $550,000 home, my monthly payment would be about $3,400 from the calculators I’ve been using. Is that too high?

I'm a PA in the PNW working for a private group staffing ED's in several hospitals. Recently the group has asked the PA's to take on a couple new roles (triaging and rapid track from triage i.e. straightforward ESI 4, 5). With these changes the PA's are considering asking for increased pay in the form of an addition of a COLA (cost of living adjustment) to our normal salary. Was wondering if any other PA's in the ED have these in their contracts and at what rate.
