Stop comparing yourself to others. Everyone values life differently. For me, I value more WLB and spending more time with my family/friends so I am not going to stress myself for making less than my colleagues because I get to spend more time with my family and friends. I am also frugal as I don’t value many materialistic possession, so I don’t actually need much to live my life either. And keep thinking that way makes me feel better mentally.
Do you know why you’re making less? I think understanding that is the best way to start to figure that out. Are the people above you not truly valuing your contribution? If so, does that present an opportunity to advocate for yourself more strongly? If it’s political, performance, or something like that, then there’s probably a different approach I would take mentally.
“Comparison is the thief of joy.”
Forreal though, hopefully you can be your own rival. Are you better or more financially stable than your 2020 self. Set some personal goals and hit them maybe.
But why is it really bothering you? Okay, so you make less (even though in your question you make more than others - but are only comparing yourself to those above) is it bothering you really because of the money, or because you feel under appreciated, etc. What are you saying to yourself when you are comparing yourself to others?
