What guille vega is up to these days?
Hi fishes, I declined the offer from Pwc AC bangalore on July 28th by sending an email to HR, communicated the same to us_pwc_ac_bangalore_recruitment_services@pwc.com. But I keep getting these emails to complete pre-hiring formalities and daily reminders for the same. How can I make them update the status in system? Also are there repercussions of rejecting an offer. I rejected 3 days after acceptance. PwC Pwc AC

Lots of wet blankets around; I love holiday parties and seeing coworkers

Why
Holiday party for me was a major highlight of the year
Yeah our holiday parties are a blast, one year we went to house of blues and they had a live band. After party unofficially sponsored by an MD at another bar. Good times.

holiday parties are bomb lol just have fun, it doesn’t cost you anything
It costs you a portion of your yearly increase. You think the allocation for that venue comes out of the PPMD’s pay check? Not by a long shot.
Bread and circuses.
They forgot No, no matter what
Chief
Same. Even if covid wasn’t a thing
Lol I’ve loved the holiday parties at all the previous companies I’ve worked at so far, granted people only like it if they make friends at work lol (and if you know the right people you know where the after party is)
It’s always been at a decently ritzy place (or at least the team ones at the boss’ place), you don’t spend money, get good food, and usually even get reimbursed for the Uber back
Not sure what others have experienced. ZS holiday parties are awesome and create several fun memories (well someone remembers or has videos even if you are out!) each year. It’s an event most folks look forward to. Getting $100 instead in return is not even comparable!!
I remember once at a former company we rented out party buses to go to the main venue lol i remember wanting to be a shut in and not go out of laziness, but so glad my coworkers dragged me to go!

As the tiebreaker, I vote “Yes, no matter what”
I’m a sucker for free food 🤷♂️

Doesn’t look so split, just voted 30 seconds ago.
How can this add up to 101%?
Wait til the vaccinated all give one another Covid lol
Some of my former and current coworkers ended up becoming some of my best friends - having a free night out with the SO, open bar / no budget, at a nice venue all dressed up is a great time - with the after party it’s almost like a college formal all over again.
You don’t have to be friends with all of your coworkers, but you end up working 50+ hours a week in the same engagement and team with them - it’s kind of hard not to become friends with some of those people you spend that much time with.

Never went too or wanted to go to a college formal. For people who liked that type of stuff I can see why they’d like a holiday party. For people who actively avoided those things, you can see why we dread holiday parties.
Never worked 50 hours a week. I converse with my coworkers maybe 10 hours a week then talk to my real friends.

I loved our groups holiday party and truly missed not going last year
Booz Allen throws a solid Xmas party in DC… tbh
Chief
Lol I noticed that too D3
Slalom parties are off the hook
I really don’t understand the stigma/animosity around making friends at work, it’s really no different from making friends at school/college.
Do you also not do regular team buildings (maybe monthly or quarterly) with your team? How long have you been at your company for?
Would love to see the follow-up poll: Do you like your coworkers?
Love my friends outside of work, but your coworkers often know literally what you’re going through that you just can’t explain to those not in your field. So honestly I do make it a point to make at least one real friend at work (and end up making many).
Can I choose a "No but with a vax requirement" please
No. Nobody enjoys the holiday party. They only go to humor the boss who signs their checks.
I want to know what remaining 1 % do
