$60k for a junior is impressive.
Yes. You’ll have to live with a roommate, not have a car, eat as much free food at your office when it’s there, but with all the negatives, you’ll generally enjoy life.
It'll be tight, but as AD1 said...take every handout you can get. It's 6 blocks from BART so you can pretty much live anywhere.
That sounds about right, Oakland near Bart might be a good consideration
You can do it! Good for you! I agree with SD1. Bart is great to consider. A lot of people live outside the city because of cost but you never know what you’ll find so just look around. You’ll definitely need a roommate though
Thank you Paul!
AD 1: The agency that offered me (DDB) is at a pretty central location in SF. How far from the city will I have to live?
Good for you, OP! It’s not exactly “livable” for $an Fran but it’s as high as you’ll get for a Jr role. Grab it and good luck!
damn i’d love to make 60...lol pay in exchange for agency culture I guess. Any who, DDB is near FIDI so 💸. You can look in sunset or richmond district for In-Law units! Or pay up for a nicer place but have little to no spending money. If you’re willing to live outside the city, san bruno and san mateo aren’t even much better price wise. Start lookin!
No, it is not a liveable wage. Think after taxes what you’ll get and then expenses.
Even if it makes finances very tight, consider it an investment in your career.
