Hi, I was a Teacher by profession for 8 years and last 1 year I worked as AI Product Associate. I basically write content for python, Data Science and Artificial intelligence with some hands on projects. I want to grow and find more opportunities. Can anyone suggest what is best for me? My current package is above 7 lakh.

I wouldn’t know what to do with myself if someone gave me a $30k signing bonus. Or really…. Any bonus.
@VP2 Next time you get a bonus that nets you 15-16k. Please consider a donation to my bank account if it’s not too much money. I could pay off my loans with that amount.
This isn’t that crazy. The bonus is good, because tech. But in new york for that role, salary seems right, if not low. Signing bonuses are very common, especially in this market, and especially in tech.
You are extremely underpaid in the agency world. That’s partially while I switched to tech. There’s oodles and oodles of money—especially at ventured-backed and publicly traded companies. Tech cos also pay really well as a retention mechanism (stock units vest after years, encouraging people to stay).
CW1 underpaid is not for what you do at the office but what you produce in broader terms. Advertising helps companies increase their sales by billions, and agencies get paid accordingly. We are underpaid when we don't get a reasonable percentage of that aka you get paid for a fifth of what the agency charges for your services.

Glad to know someone is getting off rich the pug that can’t stand up… 🤣
Job offer day was clearly a bones day
This exact role headhunted me and my snobby ass was like “ew, tiktok” 😭
They're throwing crazy money to poach people. E en I'd say "ew tiktok" but being the fastest platform to reach a billion users shows that they're beginning/already stealing lunch from Fb/Ig
Waiting on a response from my internal recruiter friend at TikTok to tell me if this is even real.
Also, perhaps it was just me, but I found the sentiment in the comments absurd. Kudos to the guy for posting, yes, but so many jumping to “everyone is underpaid” vs perhaps considering TikTok is significantly overpaying for talent (whether exceptional or mediocre).
I agree. Something isn’t right here. A comment or on another bowl said that “he’s underpaid especially given his experience”, which is 8 years…
Also a Global Acct Mgr makes around $110 per Glassdoor so I can’t see a Director making nearly 3x that.
Who TF wants to be a salesperson. 🤢
@SS1 exactly. Nothing matters anymore. Get $$ to make your life as comfortable as possible.
Share the rest of the post and we can see he has altruistic intentions — this kind of transparency around salaries is important.
Looks like a sales role, sales pays. It’s really just that. Many sales leaders make more money than executives and finance folks.
Sales roles are always inflated like this.
Right but their work culture is 996, super toxic...
This is not true and outdated perspective. My husband works from TikTok and they’ve made major inroads in terms of culture + quality of life benefits. I would work there in a heart beat
I think this guy wants attention but I don’t think he got the attention he wanted.
If there’s no stock and limited benefits as per the China-related rumours I hear about TikTok, this is not overpaid for tech.
Ya I’ve never gotten a bonus in my life except a small $500 Xmas bonus from an agency everyone told me was toxic and awful lmao.
