If you honestly felt like you had an obligation to report it, you would’ve done it three years ago when it happened. Don’t get me wrong, you should still do it. It’s just going to look a little petty that you’re reporting it right when you’re leaving and when that person is up for senior manager rather than when it happened.
Report it. I have zero tolerance for that shit. The firm will thank you. He’s a lawsuit ready to happen (not to mention terrible press for the firm if it gets out that they knew and kept him around).
There’s insensitivity (à la, a crass joke) and there’s bigotry.

I think the point you made about watching last week’s webcast is a good one. I would mention that when you are reporting it now. I do think you have an obligation to alert the firm to this person’s behavior because I am sure it will continue to happen. This type of behavior is not acceptable at all.

I’ve asked the team member in passing and they say they blow it off as ignorance. They seem to have dealt with these interactions before. Still doesn’t excuse the behavior. More worried about future interactions with other associates. Again, what was pinged to me was separate from what they were saying to the team member. I have not told the team member what was pinged to me.

Please report. Someone on my team made slurs at me bashing my lifestyle. I spoke up. Spoke up again when nothing was done, and again spoke up almost a year later when there was still nothing done. Said person is still up for promotion, but at least people are aware. It’s really sad though that literally nothing was done (at least that I know of) besides not letting us work together for like 3 months. Sad truth. Major reason I’ll be leaving soon
