How to tackle gap periods in IT interviews?
Dear fishes, After working in Autosar(CAN/FR/OS) configuration for 4 years, I wanted to switch domain to device drivers. So I bought a STM board. Joined some udemy courses. Learnt SPI/I2C/NVIC/exception handling and FREERTOS/OS. Now I want to apply to companies like Nvidia Texas Instruments Qualcomm NXP Without any prior experience I am a bit nervous as people say the interviews would be very difficult in these.
Please help with embedded and prog ques for these interviews.
TIA. Please reply.

I have friends in recruiting who say that they routinely receive *hundreds* of applications for each position. They are recruiting for several positions, so multiply the total number of submissions by number of positions and messages from applicants following up…they’re slammed. They prioritise top candidates.

@WT1 so they have to post freelance gigs even if they already have emails in their inbox from qualified candidates? Sounds fishy. Still think there is something to be said for actually connecting with people during your downtime. All the weeks that there was supposedly no work. Even now there is only a trickle.
Recruiting and hiring are two different things. They already have a database of talent. Use it.

I would feel so guilty jerking people around like that. Especially knowing how much it sucks to be perfectly qualified for roles, but still have to diligently search for work bc the process is so inefficient. If I was the barrier to someone else progress, I would feel awful.
