I just recently promoted to HR assistant manager. I have my PHR and working towards my SPHR. I am the lowest paid employee in the depth. We have a senior specialist and a general specialist both make more than I do. They have been employed longer with the company. What is your advice on this issue?

My heart is telling me PHR, my mother in law (an HRBP) is telling me to go with SHRM, as it’s more widely recognized, more established and a larger network in general. I work for a 350~ company who is growing rapidly through M&A. Passions/interests are compliance, strategic vision, M&A, branding and culture

Is the SPHR or PHR license necessary to pivot into human capital? I have a MBA from a Top 15 school. Any thoughts?

I had my PHR back in early 2000, then made a career change to a paramedic (I know, right). I called SHRM and they said I'm eligible to test again even though I only currently have 1.5 yrs of HR.

I purchased the online study guide and it seems that HR has gone in a completely different direction - more operations related than employee relations etc.

Did anyone find this online training to be helpful? I test in July, so any tips would be greatly appreciated!

I’m in a rather peculiar situation. I have been in the HR field going on 4 years, I have over 11 years of management experience, I got my PHR last year and I recently graduated with my MBA with a concentration in HR this month. I am ready for a more challenging role. However, there doesn’t seem to be much available at my current company. However, I am going on 5 months pregnant with the expectation of being out in October. I feel like once I mentioned my pregnancy I was in a holding pattern.

I’ve been in my role since June of 2020 right after graduating college. I truly cannot say enough good things about my manufacturer but lately, as in the last 6ish months, I’ve truly been questioning whether there is more for me here.

As a 23 year old I know I’m more apt to hop or seek out other opportunities so I don’t want to be rash or just “toy around with leaving because I’m bored”. But at this point, I’ve reached my 2nd coaching (first was 4/2021) and it’s clear my role isn’t for me…..

I was presented with a great opportunity with my current employer that I had to turn down - required relocation. Now I’m feeling defeated and disconnected. I’m tired of putting out fires everyday and feeling like I’m walking on ice (mostly due to being a overachiever). I can’t stop thinking of the what ifs. Not really sure what the question is but just need some reassurance, I guess?
