What is a communications role at McKinsey like?
So how do you ask for a referral from a vendor or not? There’s no policy that stops me from joining and I just saw a very good role that I’m very much interested in but not sure if I should apply directly or ask for a referral? I have worked with them for 2 years now with multiple people on multiple layers. But I’m scared in case this gets out. My current employer is great but it will just be awkward. Three years ago we started our own law firm, practicing IP. We have been relatively successful so far but it has been extremely difficult getting large clients. We knew this would not be easy from the beginning.
Objectively, we do better work than the firms that we came from, we are more efficient and responsive, and our fees are lower. We are minority and woman-owned. Many companies say they want to diversify their outside counsel but when we reach out we are ignored.
Has COVID affected your friendship (especially if you are an introvert)? I’m kind of an extreme introvert and has completely isolated myself from my core group of friends. As an experienced, SHRM certified HRBP , I would just like some feedback on your opinion of the differences in the roles between an HRBP an HR Manager besides the obvious that the manager should have direct reports. I am an HRBP and work in step with 3 HRM’s. They all 3 just got out of cycle raises of between 5-20% 😳 and I received nothing. I am quite aware of our HR code that salary is confidential but I was told about this. Would you be looking for other employment? Or stay?

I am struggling with the fact that I have 13 years of HR experience in one capacity or another, along with a bachelors degree and my PHR designation yet companies say “I’m not qualified or they ghost me when I apply for HR openings. I am experienced in all aspects of HR. How are people with little to no experience coming right out of college obtaining higher level roles than I have currently? It makes my passion for the field just go away.

I’d like to be prepared for the initial phone screen convo, which will only last 20-30 minutes. The JD shows the salary range as 110-130(USD) commensurate with experience, but I’m happy to land anywhere in that range—yet I don’t think it’s good to disclose that.
