I was interviewed at EY UK on 7th Sep. It was quite smooth. Since then I haven't heard anything back from them though interviewer claimed SLA to get back with outcome of interview is 48 hours. On portal it still says I'm in hiring team phase. It was level 1 interview.
Should I take this delay as rejection?

I made a shift from counsel in Biglaw to NEP in Midlaw and was caught off guard by billable requirements that were higher than expected. But even more so, I was supposed to work primarily with 2 rainmaker partners, but one scaled down early and retired and the other had a significant shift in his practice away from my expertise, so I soon found myself having to scramble to bring in my own work.
This. Do all your due diligence. Staffing, admin, expectations for billable and non-billable work. Look at current and former employees.
Make sure you can make the orginations and collectibles requirements. Also, check out whether you will have W2 or K1 status, and what the benefits package looks like. Some NEPs pay all health insurance, bar dues and cle, unlike a counsel who will be a W2 employee. You might end up with an unexpected pay cut when you get the nicer title.
