Hello people of San Diego! Would love to hear how y’all are affording to live here comfortably. Please state your company, position, TC, YOE, and do you have a side hustle? I’ll start - I’m an advisor in Wealth Management with TC of $70k, 3 YOE and no side hustle. Among other things, rent just jumped from $2500 to $3700 for 2 bedroom and areas were looking at. I’d like to “make it” here but if it means switching career to make money I’d like to get an idea to make the right job change.

Graduating with my finance degree in about a year. I took a part-time healthcare position fill my employment gap but most of my previous experience is in manufacturing logistics and customer service. With my background, how do I break into a finance or accounting role? What positions do I apply for? I would like to make at least 45-50k a year min starting if possible.

Currently our marketing team is of one (me) and we outsource quite a bit of other tasks as we continue to grow. With that said, one of the tasks I am currently involved with is creating weekly emails from scratch and I am pretty darn good at them. Yet so many people (several in different teams) have requested to review my work before it’s sent. It’s unnecessary and makes the job less efficient. How can I politely and professionally decline their request?

A good friend of mine graduated from Parsons this past summer, has degrees in Journalism and French, is a talented photographer and designer (which I feel I have a pretty decent eye for after working at a design-driven branding agency for half a decade). I have 7 plus experience in c++. I am trying new job within Chennai location but I am getting 1 or 2 interview calls for a month. I know c++ is old language and openings are very less and competitor people also less.

What is a simple way to explain to my boyfriend that investing in equity with an expected return of 10% is better than paying off debt that is growing at a rate of 6%. Match process costs around USD10k; this year he is applying again after borrowing funds frm different sources bt he is under tremendous pressure to get match. I feel his pain as he has studied for 10+ yrs and is struggling to match nw. I m nt sure hw I can help
