Layoffs at Mullen BOS?
Layoffs at r/ga today 💔
I’m weighing an offer from Deloitte GPS in Human Capital (consultant level, 2.5 YOE). I’ve seen previous posts about all the people Deloitte laid off last year and I’m a bit nervous to accept because of it. Does anyone know if Deloitte is still doing layoffs? Was/Is it in commercial or GPS? And what were the reasons for the layoffs?

Deloitte I have been on my current project since September 2020, and am feeling some burn out. My current contract ends at the end of this month. I am considering sitting on the bench for some weeks, maybe a month to rest. Is that pushing it? How long is too long? My utilization rate is currently in the 90ish range.
Can you find a place to strictly quarantine for two weeks, get tested, then move in with parents?
You can get used to strict Covid precautions. I've been in isolation (first solo, then with family) since March, and being with family feels social compared to the prior solo lockdown. Having a yard / lake to be outside helps. And I'm saving so much $$ on rent.

My brain can’t compute: I’m know I’m getting laid off + I’d like to live more comfortably so I plan to increase my expenses.
You guys must be in New york.studios aren't normally that small in the US, but they are in Asia. Studios tend to be around 400 to 500 I think, which is on the larger side which isn't needed. Smaller is good if you are efficient with the space. I suggest getting an authentic shikibuton to sleep on the floor and put it away in the day to save space. It has to be aired out too. There maybe be other alternatives like a trifold.
Do you have an emergency savings fund to cover at least 3-6 months of expenses? Would you be able to sustain your lifestyle & pay your bills if you’ve with this increased rent unit?
What about a month to month lease? Or short term lease? That way you have somewhat of an out.
OP id quarantine for 2 weeks and move back in. It might suck at first but the risk of being stuck on a lease while unemployed could be very bad.
I literally can’t. They will not let me. They said they fear I’ll move in and eventually go to a grocery store and expose them. I love my parents but mentally they weren’t very stable before this and after this, they’ve lost it.
Move to a suburb where you’ll get more space for less money
That’s what I’m actually looking into!
Move to a LCOL area. There is a shift happening now where people are moving from major cities to outlying areas. Do the same, companies will be doing the same soon enough.
Second this. I live in a 2 bed, 2 full bath, top floor, corner unit in south west Charlotte for $1400 a month. 10 foot ceilings, screened in porch, large windows, big marble island in kitchen. Nothing super fancy but great for the money. Atlanta is similar cost.
I think a studio is great for saving money. Room mates are what drive me crazy. I had them for many years. A lot of places don't offer studios.
