Hi all, recently in touch by Spotify recruiter for a Sec Engineer position for remote EU and was told that range was 60-80 out of base salary and equity. Had 2 years of security experience out of my 4 years. Was also told that there is no bonus scheme or no sign in bonus 😕 Not sure how I feel about this tbh.

Assuming she’s a w-2 employee then she would be taxed in Virginia only since that is where she performed services.
Yes w2.
Always the location you’re working in. In this case VA. If you were to wfh, then you’re taxed based on your home state
Convenience of employer rule in a state like NY would result in double taxation but VA would allow a credit for taxes paid. Not all states would allow a credit though. If you work in CA remotely for a NY employer, you get screwed since CA would not allow a credit.
It is not ‘always’ the location. NY for example is trying to implement rules that would allow them to collect income tax for employees who work remotely out of state. Look into it… very few tax things these days are ‘always’.

Yep. "[F]ive states that have a convenience-of-the-employer rule—Connecticut, Delaware, Nebraska, New York, Pennsylvania—withholding is based on where the employer is located unless the telecommuting is required by the employer. On the other hand, if an employee works from a different location for his or her convenience but is not required to do so, those states impose income tax on the employee based on the employer’s location as well."
