What's your opinion on asking for a promotion when I've been working for the company less than a year?
I want to raise my children around other upper class black families. Where should we live? We're currently in Memphis.
Will a 72nd percentile in quant raise red flags if my LORs emphasize “analytical thinking” and transcript has lots of A and B+s in Stats, calc 3, and econ courses at a tough school?
Asking for a raise. I currently make under 45k. My rent is increasing this year, cost of living in my area is going up and I need a raise. Not want, but need. What is the best way to approach this conversation with my manager? Additionally, what’s a decent percentage to ask for? I want to ask for a higher %, because my employer will definitely push back. I’ve done nothing but work from home and save this past year. I don’t want to eat up what I’ve saved just because I won’t get a raise.
If a firm is exceptionally top heavy (majority of attorneys being partners/counsel), should that be a concern for a junior associate? With a lot of turnover on the associate level and so many partners/counsel, I’m concerned it’ll stunt my growth a bit—meaning my career won’t move quickly on an upward trajectory (promotion wise) since there really is a true need for associates at the firm while it’s over saturated with partners. Thoughts?
What's a good salary for DC metro area? I feel like with the inflation, I need a 15 percent raise to keep pace.
What % raise should I be looking at from audit staff to senior? Just got my CPA license, low COL city.
Would you guys recommend leaving your company when you’re just a few months shy of a promotion?
Came out of a pretty toxic work environment and therapist has basically said I have PTSD. Trying to get past it, while aiming to excel in new team but finding it hard to voice my thoughts/opinions given previous experience. Also experiencing the beginnings of burnout, caring for a 4 year old and full time work. Oh and any thoughts of promotion are truly gone...any ideas on work strategy?
Having the worst period cramps I think I’ve ever had, I took 3 Advil, I’m still doubling over in pain. Any tips for relief? Going to raise this with obgyn soon, but need some tips to get through the day
Advice on switching agencies when you are super emotionally invested in your current place of work..but the raise is good, title great, more steady work/clients, etc 💔😭
My H1-B is maxed out in August 2022, when should I reach out to EY Law for visa renewal? My I-140 is approved but still need to wait for promotion. TIA!
Tax S1 to S2 what's the raise this year
Raise your hand if you feel me. So many meetings about the work I have to do, I don’t have time to it. (Except after 6pm)
What is your long term goal? Mine is to buy some land, build a nice (but not mcmansion) house on it, raise a family, travel, and have a non qualified account of 1MM after maxing other retirement acts.
In NJ/NY what should pay expectation be for promotion to senior? Hearing below 70, if so may be time to jump to industry
What are your thoughts on jumping soon after promotion/comp increase? Does it automatically burn a bridge?
But once again not posting

Pet Peeves while flying? Mine is people who recline their seats in front of me. Especially if they are shorter than me.
When you fly, do you try to make friends with the person next to you? What’s your best/worst story?
How did you really deal with all these new hires that need lots of hand holding? I am beyond frustrated, ending up taking 5x longer to do stuff than it normally will, trouble shooting for them, explaining things again and again!
When you spend so much time at a client site that the hotel staff becomes your family <3
Refreshing my resume and need to vent a thank you to the prof who had to give me the A- in one of my final 4 classes (other 3 were A’s) in the last semester of college. I think of it every time I have to write GPA:3.49
Spoken like someone who makes too much money to understand these are all the same thing
So Im in industry and have been working 9-6ish but non-stop, back to back meetings and trying to get deliverables done in between. Maybe 15 minute lunch break. So by 6 I’m exhausted. Past 2 weeks have been slower so I can’t say I truly was productive worked 9-6. I feel guilty about that, but is that normal? Are most people actually productive only a few hours in industry? Basically should I feel guilty or is this how it is supposed to be.
Is $247k TC enough to jump ship with 5 yoe or should I keep looking for more? This includes $40k sign on. Current salary is about $140k TC
Current employer is asking to share the offer letter in order to come up with a counter. All this was within 30 mins of my resigning! They are ok with hiding the company name but want to look at the compensation. They are saying it's the "process". What's your take on this ? I am not comfortable sharing it but I don't want to piss off my MDs. Need those connections for future rehire or other opportunities.
Anyone knows what is roughly the gross and net margin for LV on a hand bag in the 10-15k range. I was window shopping with wife and can’t believe how expensive these ordinary looking bags are
I owe so much to this app. a year ago I created an account, and realized how underpaid I was. Went from 62k to 125k with one move. Anyone else have similar experience?
I want to be more like my non work version self than the uptight, PC version that I feel like I have to be at work. Are people actually like that or do they also feel like they can’t be themselves?
Please recommend an affordable city to move to on the west coast that has a decent airport. I travel for work and my wife works from home. I have a 1 year old who made me realize that I cannot hibernate 6 months out of the year, living in Michigan. I hope to get aligned to the tech sector, in the next couple of years. So the west coast seems like a reasonable option. But where on the west coast is a 4 bedroom home still under $1M is the question.
