Corporate / M&A folks making moves over the last few months: Got an offer from a top 50 lockstep AmLaw100 firm. 4th year. Not NYC but in a market that was recently bumped up to the previous Cravath scale market. Base is obviously set. What should I expect / negotiate for signing bonus, year-end bonus eligibility, special bonus eligibility, etc.? Any other negotiation considerations? I would say leverage is on my side considerably.

I am feeling lost in job. So I’ve applied for Accounts payable they offered 40k. I said why not to gain some experience. I didn’t even bother negotiating which I regret.
Fast forward I noticed that I was eventually handed everyone’s workload (AR & imports & duty and check coworker work + AP) Spoke to them about pay increase based on workload. So they raised it to 55k.. but I still feel underpaid based on the amt of work I do. I don’t know what my title or what to put on resume..

I'm on a H1B so I am supposed to pay Medicare and SS taxes, but my employer has not withheld anything- my hnr block advisor caught that but she just completed my returns assuming I don't have to pay those taxes

What is the right protocol in this case? Do I owe SS and fica taxes?

Who else here feels like the entire restaurant industry deserves an overhaul? We rely on tips because it's basically assumed that everyone will tip, but in reality there are people who tip very little or just don't at all. Which offer should I accept? Currently staff 2 at big 4 in Tax with CPA license. I want to leave tax ASAP. Both are public companies +1B in revenue and same salary. Offer 1 - staff revenue accountant so reading contracts, speaking with the sales team and legal team, a lot of work at the end of the months to close books and reconcile transactions to make sure we are ASC 606 compliant. This track usually leads to director of revenue. Offer 2 - internal audit staff so SOX and compliance projects.

Interview tomorrow for a tax associate opening at RSM. Been working in a mid-size city (different firm) that is about 70 minutes from this new home office in a larger metro. How flexible is WFH or dual model going forward post Covid? Am interested in this position and going to tax, but not be able to relocate for family reasons. Don’t want to drive 700 miles per week M-F. What will dual model be like going forward? 1-2 times week, 4-5 month? Seems like tax was more flexible than audit pre-Covid
