PwC is so cheap that we can’t bring a +1 to the holiday party...

D enjoys the plus one privilege as well

EY can definitely plus 1 for the two offices I have been. But just like some regions (SE?) didn’t have one last year I guess it wouldn’t be totally surprising if some disallowed the +1... does seems unlikely tho considering dates are ingrained in the etiquette of [holiday] cocktail parties

We get a plus one here in Chicago.

No +1 is ridiculous.
Might as well not have a party. Wonder who is the genius that approved that.

Most likely it’s just NYC again. Other offices don’t seem to have the restriction.

EY Los Angeles allows +1's. I've seen ppl bring multiple ppl lol. #WESTCOASTCHILL

We didn't even have alcohol last year

We've had years without plus ones, when economy is down and firm is doing bad. Not this year.

If I can’t bring my wife to a party then I’ll just find one at the party.... wait what?

+1s in DC too

Haha so is EY

Is it normal to feel numb around the holidays? I'm tired, dealing with seasonal affective disorder and a really tough caseload right now. Not in the holiday spirit at all and honestly don't even want to be, I just want to spend the weekend resting. Is it bad that I don't care about it at all this year?

Starting a new job next month, and considering taking two days off for kids’ spring break next month. Not sure whether it’s appropriate to request time off for a new job (I would’ve preferred not to take any time off for first three months). I may just be able to just ask for a single Friday off (so 1 day rather than 2 days).

Any thoughts on whether I should proceed with the request? I just came from big law and want to make sure I’m not making a bad impression on my colleagues.

How do I divide the chores in this case? I’m the breadwinner - husband has been taking time off from work. No kids. Two dogs.

I feel like I do more chores because there are some things that I just can’t stand. Like dishes left in the sink, dirty floor, dirty dogs, laundry…etc. When I ask him to do those chores, he says he will do them later but he takes forever. So I do them instead. He does grocery shopping, yard work, some cooking. Is it unfair if I repeatedly ask him to do more? 😡😡

Hello, I have accepted an offer at a competitor company and sent in my resignation letter. My start date is 5 weeks from now so I put in my end date 4 weeks from date letter was signed. The manager said I had to leave the job in 2 days and the company can only play 2 weeks of work. Is it normal how they do that?

So annoyed,

So my work has unlimited PTO -global company. I'm based in uk and line manager is in USA. he said I'm taking to much time off and has brought it up with upper management. I have taken in total to date 22 days with 8 (4 include an operation) more to go. My performance is above target. I just feel blindsided.

Desperate for help from HR experts!

According to California Law, employers must pay unused vacation. Each year, we are given 33 days of holidays, no accrual. I was just laid off and my employer only paid half of my vacation because it’s mid year. Is this legal?

In hibob it says I had 32.5 days accrued.

Thanks for your help!

Interesting. Let’s see if the uptick In cases continues to drive an uptick in hospitalizations and then in fatalities. Depends on how many of the cases are incidental or in very young people not prone to severe cases. But either way, look at the hospital capacity utilization figures! This is the untold story. Were we bending the curve to avoid unnecessary deaths due to overcrowded hospitals, or were we bending the curve to buy time for treatments and vaccine, or just to slow fatalities?
