PE is notorious for being difficult to get into unless you’re coming from IB. However, there are success stories for consultants breaking into PE even without an MBA. Which got me thinking, how difficult would it be for a healthcare management consultant to land a spot at a healthcare-focused PE firm?
Tips for how you’re accumulating wealth with absolutely no financial inheritance/intelligence from parents? I want to retire early but am late in the investments game. I have a Roth IRA invested in a target date fund, max out my HSA and invest in REITS and ETFS, and contribute more to 401k when I have leftover $$. What do you guys do? Am i missing any smart moves here?
New to KPMG- out of town at a client, how does claiming a per diem work? I've just been buying my meals with my corporate card
Any insight into Jackson Lewis? Especially the smaller offices? Do Associates generally get promoted to Partner? Do they match 401K contributions? Quality of life? PTO?
How do I retire at 45? Give me all your tips.
Heading into benefits open enrollment and beginning to receive current provider renewal percentage increases (medical and dental) as well as market offers from other providers. Curious what other employers have experienced and hoping to receive successful negotiating techniques. My company is too small to receive claims experience data from the provider. What % increase did you see for a small to mid size company?
What's the main diff b/w '401k Before Tax Contrib' and '401k Roth Contrib'? Currently,in my employer sponsored 401k plan, there are no 401k Roth Contrib, wanted to understand how should I balance b/w the two?
Just started my first full-time position for 2021 and wish to max out my 401k. If I set it to 10% of my income, would it automatically stop when it reaches the max? Or would I have to manually go in and adjust it to 0% ? Ty!
Product Management - I am somewhat interested in trying to move into product management. I have led internal analytics product development at a prior firm, and have led clients through developing/improving “products” for their teams to use however I have not led “consumer facing” products and my experiences have not been as “formal” as many PM roles ask for. I work in healthcare and would want to stay there. I’m wondering if others have any thoughts on these transitions.
One of our older advisors is about to retire so his book will be split amongst us junior advisors. What can I do to pitch myself to him and to management to earn the bigger accounts?
IPG folks: have any of you switched to a different agency within the network? Were you able to "bring" your benefits with you to the new agency? Things like 401(k) matching, vacation days, etc?
Need help comparing the offer. Trying to prioritize money and lifestyle OFFER 1: strategy role 370k (including base, bonus and equity) + some sign on + 401k. Legacy company, not sure if I will prefer to stay for more than 2 years; OFFER 2: 230k (base + bonus) + 125k equity/year (targeted liquidity event in 4-5 years) + some sign-on. I like the role in offer 2 more and the the company is growing 30-40% but startup life ain’t easy. Is offer 2 a better option or would you consider it very risky?
Hi I am having 2 offers into data analytics 1. EY GDS - Bangalore 2. PepsiCo GBS - Hyderabad Package is slightly more in PepsiCo, can anyone suggest which one to go for considering job security, annual hikes, benefits.
Interviewing for a great position in industry (tech). They have equity comp & great benefits. Spoke to their HR, then interviewed with 2 people in the tax department and am getting scheduled for a next round of interviews. The only problem is: the office is about 1 hr from my house (I own). They said repeatedly that they want someone who will be in the office 5 days a week. I would actually move but can’t rent out my place now due to some repairs going on that will take 4-5 months. Thoughts?
Has anyone made the transition from a more traditional healthcare consulting role (provider, payer, etc.) to a healthcare private equity consulting role? I’m assuming this is difficult, but would love to hear people’s experiences.
Bad time to move firms? PWC reached for a role in a better industry, but surprised they’re hiring. If I moved what comp should I expect? 3 YOE, M.S. DC area, People & change (Healthcare sector)
PwC Inside comments will now have your name showing. Conveniently right after all there were hundreds of negative comments about lost benefits with no official response.
Is an MHA treated the same as an MBA in the healthcare consulting world? I keep seeing info. on MBA grads making ~150k post grad and can't help but feel like I'm grossly underpaid if that is true. Have an MHA, multiple certs, 3 YOE, making less than 100k right now.
Thoughts on leaving audit right now for transaction due diligence at another Big 4 firm in NYC?
I was just speaking with a couple of coworkers who told me they see doctors who don’t take insurance. Why would anyone do that? Is this just a flex?
How lenient are you with billing? Just saw a presentation showing the average utilization was over 95% at my mid sized consultancy and I swear I know so many people that barely have work. Like literally during the staffing calls everyone says they’re only 50% billable and are looking to take on more work.
Does your School Board have a policy on Therapy Dogs in the classroom? If so, can you tell me what it is?
If you are working industry, 40 hours a week with a competitive pay and left B4 tax - can you share your new job title? Not sure what is out there that I could apply for. The b4 life is not for me and is actually affecting my family (mom of 2 kiddos). I’m looking into something with true flexibility and less than 50 hours a week. Any advice?
How open is EY to remote work?
Soooo turns out vaccines don’t protect you from long COVID. Do we still wanna go back to the office and risk that? I don’t.
We are currently building the plan for the hybrid model we will follow mid October. (No specific date yet.) We have committed to an A/B model with groups attending MT and Th/F in person, working remotely the other three days. If you have an AB model do you deliver the same content to your students each day, regardless of them being remote or in person? Or is the lesson cycle one that begins on the first day you teach in person for each group? This second model seems complicated.
Do the counselors on your campus come to your home rooms and give lessons on social and emotional skills?

What kind of workspace do you have in Big 4 Consulting? From A to SA to M to D to MD/P? Do you have an office?
Anyone from big4 has experience in having its H1b transfer filed within a week after accepting the offer?
Have anyone successfully negotiated down their rent due to Covid? I’m in NYC and my management has been very inflexible.
Another analyst (male indian) starting the same time as I is annoying the heck out of me. He never shares information, and always just repeats what I said in group messages, emails, zoom meetings (and prompts me to go first). He even stalks my calendar and compares the schedule overlap with our manager’s to figure out my meetings and schedule🙃. He also pushed me under the bus (he didn’t do a task even though i reminded him, yet he said I didn’t do it either together). What should I do
