The two up and down the road from Lagavulin on that magical island of Islay: Ardbeg and Laphroaig
Rising Star
You started off with Lagavulin? My man! That's one of my favorites but I wouldn't ever recommend that to anyone who is just getting into Scotch.
There are 5 Scotch whisky regions: Highland, Lowland, Islay, Speyside, and Campbeltown.
Try different price points of the above 5 regions. Not all are for everyone - region and price.
Then there's: single malt, blended malt, single grain, blended grain, and blended.

I actually hated it the first 2-3 times I tried it. By the 4th or 5th try I realized I actually really enjoy the peaty flavor haha. Thanks for the education!!
Kilchoman, Kilchoman and Kilchoman.
Best ever if you like islay still whisky!

Macallan is my go to.
Laphroaig if you want peat.
Glenfiddich for another solid crowd pleaser.
