Hell no. If you're making $450,000 at 31, you've already surpassed whatever ceiling you imagined in your mind.
People on this app act like an M7 MBA is the one way to have a successful career, which is demonstrably false. You've proven you can achieve high TC without a "pedigree."
Trust that what got you this far will continue to help you grow your career.
- A T15 MBA
I also would throw out there that MBAs aren’t everything. You could do an advanced degree in some other subject like economics or some kind of obscure statistics (I really have no clue just throwing mud against the wall). But people will be impressed by that sh*t too. People are easily impressed, you just have to write the right narrative.
Nah you’re making $450K MBA will benefit your salary/career in anyway at this point. I’m also against any school debt after undergrad unless your career path is mandatory for grad school

You might consider an exec MBA, where you won't have to give up your job.
Please spill the tea on how you’re making $450k at 31
OP made the thread to brag c'mon now suckas
Mba does not guarantee you more money than this, esp depending on what ur doing to get it. Sure consulting, high finance, etc type jobs and those that feed into c suite. But thats still a minority of people at the end of the room.
Ask urself what you want the mba for. If it’s for money, probably not. If it’s to change careers, sure. If it’s to become cxo, sure. But ask urself how likely that is.

Imaging making $450k/year and believe you’re “hitting a ceiling” and the best way to up-level is going back to school with a bunch of 22-25 year olds with very little experience or agency themselves. Maybe an Exec MBA if that.
This is an interesting question. While I’m not at 450k by any means, I saw my name listed in a panel and suddenly became very self conscious because my name had so few credentials next to it than others…if I noticed it, won’t others? Are you thinking about credibility? There are definitely accelerated programs … (I’ve been looking into accelerated MPH degrees)
You don’t have the credentials that all those other folks have yet you’re speaking on the same panel.
Stop worrying about what you don’t have… you obviously have more than enough.
Rising Star
Get your company to pay for an exec if you're insecure about not having the degree, but unless you're looking to do a career pivot there's no point.
What are you doing at 31 to make 450k please tell me haha!

are you in consulting? and are you in S&? 😁
I have had two exes without degrees who were CEOs of multi million dollar corporations. I went to boarding school, and have an advanced degree from an Ivy. Guess who was way ahead financially 🥴 That said, I get it because I do know my exes had insecurity about this deep down. Both had adhd and just were not school oriented, but really have heads for business. I think we all have our things we are insecure about — like my insecurity is that I am not financially savvy the way they were and honestly I never will be. One of my exes did try to go back to school at 45 or so but he just couldn’t find the time or will to get into it. I don’t know. You’re much younger so if it’s important I would do it NOW, and maybe really ask what you want out of it. If it’s really the degree, maybe do an executive MBA part time. I wouldn’t do a full time program at your age and stage of career.
What Director at 31 makes 450?
Ah yeah, fair point.
Exec MBA. But also, how much money do you need to make to be satisfied? 450k at your age is amazing, so props to you for that. But if you want more, then I doubt whatever boost you get from getting into those rooms will be enough to satisfy you.
Quality experience will go further than an MBA in almost any worthy organization. If I get that question in an exec interview, I just tell them I ran 2 P&Ls in my career which is where I got my “MBA”. It’s never failed me.

450k at 31 is plenty of pedigree IMO
If pedigree is important to you, do it.
Agree with those that say look at exec MBA. The networking you want at this point is probably not going to be found in the FT programs, which will have younger people earlier in their career. Make sure that doing it is worth the time and money, but at this point in your career, I would look at a high end exec program.
If it bothers you I’d apply to a few prestigious programs and see how I feel after acceptance. I know several people who graduated M7 schools (full time) at the ages of 33-36
Where do you work and what do you do?
