Hello! Question for anyone that works at Google if I have hit my 3 applications per 90 days can I still apply to an additional role through a referral link? Or will I have to wait until the 90 days is up? Actually asking for a friend that doesn’t have this app 😊 thanks in advance for any insight.

I must be the only vet in the world that thinks it’s a reasonable question. Maybe not polite but I get it
That’s a better way to put it thinking more holistically, impolite sure. But how would anyone that’s not been in or close with someone that’s been in know that’s an awkward question for some
No questions from people that have never served are idiotic.
Put yourselves in their shoes - they know NOTHING about our life. Consider how little you knew about the private sector while you were serving. I'm actually embarrassed about my lack of knowledge back then.
I actually believe that I have a responsibility as a veteran to answer any and all questions about the military, no matter how "idiotic" they might seem - we need to dispel some myths and open up our world a little.
As to the "have you ever killed someone" question, which we've all had, I just answer honestly. I've nothing to hide, and my conscience is clear.

Bain 1 - I agree with your point, but I don’t think it applies to this specific question…
I welcome dumb military questions and answer them ALL the time. I totally get it. I don’t get angry at civilians and honestly try to bridge the gap the best I can.
“Did you kill anyone?” isn’t a dumb question though - it’s an incredibly low EQ question.
We don’t casually ask a doctor on the street “tell me about a time you lost a patient” … or a police officer “tell me about a time you had to shoot a suspect.” … Those are heavy conversations that you don’t tend to casually have - especially if there’s no personal connection with that person.
Why should we think that same question is socially-acceptable to those who have served in the military?
I hurt somebody’s feelings once
What are feelings. I feel only arthritis
I say yes but only for food
I’m going to have to steal this for the next time
I understand that they might have asked the questions out of curiosity but still, it's an insensitive question. On the other hand, you have the choice not to answer that random and offensive question.
Lol I mean true.

Only once has someone asked whether I’ve killed anyone. I gently explained why the question was inappropriate to ask: if yes, there’s a good chance it brings up some unwelcome memories and if no, it’s not really a civilian’s place to judge how someone’s experience lives up to their own expectations. Vets generally know better than to ask because nothing really needs to be said.
I always tell people that my own deployment as a staff officer in OEF was more like The Office if Jim and Dwight had to share a tent for a year and everyone carried weapons.
