Suit and tie still the go-to for zoom interview attire?

I would echo everyone’s sentiments here with Suit and tie. However, I still dressed head to toe as if interview was going to be in person. Worked for me as it got me in the right headspace and I’d only ever interviewed in person (a bit excessive maybe). If Pooh-bearing it works, that’s great too - don’t think I’d ever heard of or expect an interviewer to see what you’re wearing for the lower half so do what you think will work best for you.

Or this...

If you work at Deloitte, is this for an industry interview? I think you definitely need to play to company culture. Suit and tie would only be appropriate for another big 4, banking, or some other formal company/ industry. However if you’re interviewing at a Bay Area tech company as one example, a suit and tie would automatically disqualify you (maybe not technically but people would be taken aback). It may be safer to go with nice button up and jeans.

Ehh....be bold...wear a wife beater and a hat. If they can't take you at your worst then they don't deserve you.

Only if it’s Wife Beater Wednesday. This would not be appropriate on Tie-day Friday. Always make sure to dress appropriate.

I would still wear a suit and tie. Why give anyone a reason not to hire you?

I would get rid of the tie. I think most are fine with suit and a shirt.

I mean usually wear a dress and a blazer 😂

Lose the tie. I just finished a round of interviews and only wore a jacket and blazer. Most people I met with either wore just a button down, a polo, or a t-shirt so the blazer was a good touch.

Wore a suit and tie for my first interview, but noticed my interviewers we’re wearing hoodies, polos, etc so I toned it down. Only wore button downs for my interviews after that. Might’ve even worn a polo for one. Still got the job. The most dressed up people I spoke to were partners who were wearing a dress shirt at most and normally just a casual gingham button down.

Depends on company/role/region. Something old school like banking? Suit and tie. Tech on the west coast? Button up at most. It’s all about your audience

You’d be surprised. I once worked for an hippy-esque executive director at non-profit who would refuse to hire anyone not in a suit and tie. I debated not wearing one to the interview because they seemed a bit loopy. Glad I ended up wearing full suit.

Suit and tie. No pants. Ultra confident booster.

I would err on that side yes.

Yeah, better to dress up than to dress down during an interview.

I just finished interviewing with each of the big4 on cam in a shirt and tie. So far this has worked out well... 🤑 two offers letters down one more offer letter to go.

I’ve never joined a network group before, so I’m sure there are details I haven’t even thought of.
