Tax question for any Accenture people who were part of the layoffs in August...did you see anything weird with state withholding on your W2? I relocated from VA to NJ in early 2020 and my state withholding switched to NJ when I moved. However (and I never noticed this at the time), all of my earnings, including severance, paid out PTO, and COBRA true up, are shown as taxable income in both states. My tax accountant is scratching his head.

I have been searching for a travel card for months. I am a young guy who is looking to take advantage of credit and earn points at the same time. Cap One just released an interesting new premium travel card with a lot of seemingly good perks (Venture X). I also looked at the CSP and the Southwest Priority card. My girlfriends family has Southwest and swear by it, with companion pass being the differentiator. I am in the DMV area and have mostly flown Jet Blue or Southwest. Any thoughts on this?

I make $158k base and bonus of about 10%. Soon I will bump up to $175k base + bonus. I live in a HCOL. Without any more details, what amount do you think I should be saving per month (inclusive of 401k, brokerage investments, HSA, cash, etc)?

Most of the review on DXC is negative. How will be job security and work life balance. In most review I see "termination & layoffs." How is current situation in 2022

What type of investments do people typically put their TFSA vs other vehicles?

My manager casually threw out that she had an exec tell her it’s fine if she wants to close my division down next year. We are a niche team in a large company. I asked her to clarify as I am worried about my team (and me) she said we would be “well taken care of” as in receive severance…she was so casual about it and said she didn’t know what she would do - we’re performing well, but it’s a small market. What do I do? Warn my team? Look for jobs? I have been here for 20 years w/niche skills…

What % down payment would you recommend making on a home in a HCOL? I was thinking 5%, but have heard that 20% is the standard. Trying to weigh the best option, so any advice/experiences would be appreciated :). I will have a 3-month emergency fund saved up as well when making my purchase in addition to the down payment.

I just got offered a job with a firm that has billable hour requirements. I’ve never had had billable hours. Is is appropriate to ask what the billable requirements are? I have a good idea from someone I know who works in a different department but want to confirm what they told me. They also provided vacation time of 3-5 weeks. I’m assuming that’s work weeks, but is that appropriate to ask for clarification? I don’t want them to think that’s all I care about, but these are important to me.
